How does the Web Client work day to day?

The Web Client runs in a browser with an SAP Fiori design. You land on a Home page of tiles, open list views and detail views, follow linked documents in a relationship map, build Overview pages with analytic cards, and run approvals and activities, all from a browser on SAP HANA or SQL Server.

  • Home page and apps: sets of tiles that open the apps for each area.
  • List views and detail views: filter, adapt and share views; export and import views across users.
  • Relationship map: trace a quotation through order, invoice and delivery in one visual.
  • Overview pages and analytics: analytic cards, a General Overview, linked list views and Ask AI.
  • Microsoft Teams app: SAP documents an SAP Business One app for Microsoft Teams.
  • Process maps: predefined process maps you can extend.

Where can SAP Business One run: cloud, on-prem or both?

SAP lists cloud, on-premise and mobile deployment options for SAP Business One. You can run it on your own servers, have a partner host it in the cloud, or mix the two. SAP notes that the Web Client works regardless of deployment method, and mobile apps cover sales teams on the road.

Cloud (partner-hosted)

A partner runs the servers, backups and upgrades. It’s often bought as a subscription.

On-premise

Runs on your own infrastructure, for full control over data and integrations.

Hybrid

Keep the system where you need it and give users browser access through the Web Client.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android apps for managing leads, customer accounts and stock and placing orders on the road.

SAP HANA or Microsoft SQL Server?

SAP Business One runs on either SAP HANA or Microsoft SQL Server, and SAP’s guide confirms the Web Client supports both. HANA is SAP’s in-memory platform for real-time analytics and high-performance functionality. SQL Server fits companies already standardized on Microsoft. The right choice depends on your reporting needs, IT skills and hosting.

How is SAP Business One licensed?

SAP Business One is sold through SAP partners, either as a perpetual license (buy once, then pay annual maintenance) or as a subscription, which is often partner-hosted in the cloud. Total cost depends on user types and counts, add-ons, hosting and implementation, so insist on a quote based on your real users.

Then we migrate clean data, configure and test, train each role, and go live with support. SAP says most businesses go live in weeks, though scope drives the timeline.

SAP Business One FAQ

What is SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2608?

FP 2608 is a 2026 feature package for SAP Business One 10.0. SAP’s Web Client user guide for FP 2608 documents Ask AI in list and detail views, AI-generated user-defined queries, new Campaigns, Opportunities and Calendar apps, dunning and purchase quotation wizards, payment runs, a new Banking group, pick and pack, MRP and new reports.

What is the SAP Business One Web Client?

It is SAP B1’s browser-based interface, built on the SAP Fiori design concept. Per SAP, it runs on both SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server, offers SAP Business One core business logic and processes with enhanced analytics, and lets users create and process documents, master data, approvals and activities regardless of deployment method.

Can SAP Business One run in the cloud?

Yes. SAP lists cloud, on-premise and mobile deployment options. Partners can host SAP B1 for you, or you can run it on your own servers. Because the Web Client runs in a browser, teams can work from anywhere in either model, and a partner can help you choose.

SAP HANA or Microsoft SQL Server: which database should I choose?

Both are supported, and the Web Client runs on either. SAP HANA is SAP’s in-memory platform, aimed at real-time analytics and high-performance functionality. Microsoft SQL Server suits companies already standardized on Microsoft infrastructure. We weigh your reporting needs, IT skills and hosting plan before recommending one.

How is SAP B1 licensed?

SAP Business One is sold through SAP partners, typically as a perpetual license with annual maintenance, or as a subscription, often hosted. Pricing depends on user types, user counts and the partner, so get a quote built on your actual users rather than a list price.

Is SAP Business One overkill for a small business?

Not if you need tight financial controls, inventory discipline and room to grow. SAP built it for small and midsize businesses, and SAP says more than 85,000 companies use it. If your needs are simpler, we’ll say so, honestly, before you buy anything.
